The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (Movie Tie-in)

Three tattered American hobos, all washed up in a 1930s Mexican oil port, pool their meagre resources for one last throw of the dice and try their luck at prospecting. When gold is discovered deep in the Mexican wilderness a fevered paranoia descends and their adventure turns to a dark and bloody fable of greed and betrayal.

Originally published in 1935, this timeless and savagely ironic morality tale is B. Traven's finest achievement. Adapted and directed by John Huston in 1948 and starring Humphrey Bogart, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre won three Oscars and has become a Hollywood classic.
